Sometimes you try everything you can to speed up Chrome but it’s still invariably slooow.
It is common on some computers/laptops for the Google Chrome web browser to experience a noticeable delay in loading web pages, and you may see a 'resolving proxy', or 'downloading proxy script' message in the browser.
This Chrome behavior can be changed: 1. Click the Chrome menu button (upper-right corner of the browser toolbar) 2. Navigate to: Settings > Show advanced settings 3. Scroll down to the 'Network' section > click 'Change proxy settings' 4. In the 'Internet Properties' dialog, click 'LAN settings' > untick the 'Automatically detect settings' checkbox Notes: If your browser seems slow, it may also be prudent to check your browser for unwanted extensions, and your computer for malware. We recommend AdwCleaner, CCleaner Free, and MalwareBytes Free. If Chrome does not load web pages on a regular basis, you may also want to check/update your Wireless network adapter drivers.

The “Downloading proxy script” zinger is often a corollary of how your PC is configured to connect to the internet. A proxy is the middle man you use to get out to the interwebs.
Some IT departments use proxies to filter data, control content or improve performance. Others use it as a way to connect to the corporate network. Whatever the case may be, you can often resolve the problem by disabling Automatically Detect Settings in your Internet Options.
Let’s do this.
